As the year comes to an end, we reflect on the accomplishments and progress made to bring 100% fiber internet to MEC’s service territory.
In 2023, the total number of of MEC members with access to 100% fiber internet rose from just over 7,000 at the beginning of the year to over 20,000 by year end! Not only did crews finish constructing the fiber network in Airport, but they are close to completing construction in Fort Mohave.
There are four areas where fiber internet is now available: Fort Mohave, Airport, Silver Creek, and Big Bend.
As the project moves forward, crews will continue to expand the fiber footprint to bring fast, reliable internet to more MEC homes and businesses.
Opalka Zone covering Golden Shores and Topock is the next area slated for construction to begin.
