As the year comes to an end, we reflect on the accomplishments and progress made to bring reliable, high-speed fiber internet to HREMC’s service territory.

Throughout 2023, more than 1,200 HREMC members were connected, as crews expanded TWN’s fiber network into two new areas.

Currently, there are nine zones where fiber internet is available: Lafayette, Lincolnville, Uniondale, Huntington, Hopewell, Mt. Etna, Wabash West, Servia, and Rock Creek.

After connecting the first members in Wabash West at the beginning of the year, crews moved into the Servia area. Within a few months, the fiber backbone was built, and crews were able to turn their attention to running fiber lines to individual homes and businesses.

By August, Servia was officially fiber-ready, and the first members were connected.

Halfway through the year, crews also broke ground in Rock Creek. By fall, the network foundation was in place and crews were bringing fiber-to-the-home. The first members in Rock Creek were connected in October.

In 2023, the total number of HREMC members connected climbed from nearly 3,000 at the beginning of the year to over 4,200 by year end!

As the project moves forward, crews will continue to expand the fiber footprint, bringing the fastest, most reliable internet available to more HREMC homes and businesses.

When are you completing northwest wabash. I live at 5886 W 1300 N, Silver Lake IN 46982. They hooked my neighbor Neil Evans up and stopped on 1300n. This road is only 1 mile with a total of 7 houses. Can’t believe you didn’t hook the rest of us up.

    • Brit Lawrence says:

Hi Terry, thank you for getting in touch. We appreciate your interest and we are working diligently to build out our network. A timeframe hasn’t been stated for Northwest Wabash, but we’ll make sure to reach out as soon as we are in your area.

I’d like to know when I’m going to be connected. The wiring has been laying next to my house since march of last year.

Hi Nikolas, thank you for reaching out. We have recently submitted your address to our construction schedule and, weather permitting, will be there within the next three weeks. Thank you for your patience.
