Flowers are blooming. Birds are chirping. Spring has officially sprung! As temperatures climb and the ground thaws, crews are ramping up construction on TWN’s fiber network.

More ideal outdoor conditions make building the network backbone and connecting members easier. Without freezing temperatures, winter precipitation, and frozen ground, crews are able to distribute, hang, and bury fiber lines much quicker and more efficiently.

Springtime construction is well underway as crews work diligently to bring fast, reliable fiber internet to more Hoosier homes and businesses.

Currently, seven zones are fiber-ready, with construction in full swing in an eighth area.

Fiber-to-the-home is now available in Lafayette, Lincolnville, Uniondale, Huntington, Hopewell, Mt. Etna, and Wabash West.

Soon members in the Servia area will be able to take advantage of fiber connectivity, as crews are wrapping up construction on the network foundation. As soon as mainline construction is complete, crews will begin fiber drops to individual properties.

To date, over 3,200 HREMC members are connected and enjoying the benefits of TWN’s fiber internet, digital phone, and TV streaming services. This number is expected to climb in the upcoming months as weather conditions are more favorable for the construction and connection process.

With Servia nearly fiber-ready, crews will turn their attention to the Rock Creek area next.

As we rapidly expand our fiber network, now is the time to take the first step toward the fastest, most reliable internet available. Visit twncomm.com/heartland to sign the Underground Agreement today, so TWN knows to prepare your home for fiber service.
